I have noticed, and greatly appreciated, that there is now a new category of clips, "Glass". When a couple of us suggested this sort of clip quite some time ago Totem replied that there might be some difficulties with the way the glass screen, and smears or water on it, would interact with the blue screen process. I congratulate Totem for exploring the possibility of prodcing these clips, and more so for overcomming any difficulties that they encountered. I really like those that I have seen so far. I assume that at some point it will be possible to explicitly select or exclude these clips using Allow: or Deny: clauses in Clip nodes in .scn file, and am looking forward to seeing some "window cleaner" scenes. There are a few older clips featuring girls in French Maid costumes where they use a feather duster to appear to clean the computer screen and these could possibly be classified as "Glass" clips even though no glass screen was used when producing them.
I have also noticed that no Cage clips have been produced for a long time now. Although I personaly find these to be somewhat "heavy" for use on the dektop I also find them absolutely invaluable when producing certain types of fullscreen scenes as they are the only was to prevent the performers wandering away from their allotted place in the scene. I do hope that Totem will resume production of the occassional cage clip.
There are now two distinctly different types of InOut clips. The old kind had the performer simply walked on stage at the start, or off at the end, of the performance but the actual performance was done centre stage. There is now another kind where the performance is itself done at the edge of the screen. I like both, but unfortunatly a scene written with one kind of inout clip in mind will not normally work well with inout clips of the other kind. Just as there are two types of Table clips selectable using Table, Fronttable and BehindTable specifiers in Allow: and Deny: clauses it would be greatly appreciated is the InOut specifier could be augmented with InOutCenter and InOutEdge specifiers.
EDIT: When I submitted this post I noticed that it it showed up as having been posted "in a few seconds" - should this not have been "a few seconds ago"?
