Card update question.

I've noticed that for what ever reason some cards say they have updates. When you put your courser over one it say it's best to update it. So I was wondering what the update does per a card or why it is needed? Like were there problems with those cards causing crashes with the newer versions of the program? Are they a more true HD format like say going to 720 to 720p?

I'm just wondering because I didn't see new clips in any cards that I have updated. I think once I tried updating one and after it was done it still said there was an update. Just kind of trying to make sense out of the whole card update thing.

Thank you and I did try searching for a thread that said why this is done and I didn't really see any. If you know of one and want to direct me to it then that will be fine by me.

It could be due to bad files or incomplete files or it could be the 1080 format is being added to the card.

Just make sure you do not update any of Divine's or Camilla's cards if you own them as you will lose them.

I've already lost them from having to reformat my hard drive do to viruses. I don't download the 1080 versions. I am trying to keep the file size down. That way I can have more card on my computer till I can get a newer and better computer. God only knows when that will be. lol

I had a drive failure that caused the loss of mine. I too do not bother with the 1080 format for similar reasons although I store mine on an external drive.

Thank you for responding. Maybe it is because of the 1080 thing. Maybe with the update that option is added to the card. I'll have to pay attention to the cards next time one says it has an update.

Update Means that Something about the Current CARD has Changed..

Could be a new Tag was added, or Could be a Bad Animation was fixed.. Or could be a name change..

If you Do not have any issues with the current card as it is, No Need to Update it..

Many of the cards are now Being Processed with a New Encoder, so this means all the animation files are New, but the same resolution.

Example: All New 720p encoded files for a 720p card.

Cards that have a new Resolution will have the RESOLUTION sticker.

so Update sticker means different than Resolution..

Thank you for that info. I'll probably still update them when it comes up and I see an update to a card is available. Especially if I have to redo my computer do to a virus again. lol
