Hi, sorry for all the questions.. Please be patient with me ok?
But umm.. Ok, after a download hits 99% it says progress (instead of 100%) but it somtimes (like now) seems to hang at progress? The current file Im downloading (coo79, a deskbabe card) on average did a percent every 10 min, now after hitting 99% it now says "progress" its been at that for almost two hours? It still shows that its downloading (the connection part on the advanced setting page) is it possible its redownloaing everything for some reason?
EDIT: NM It FINALLY finished.. ugg took two hours almost after hitting 99% :/
After the show hits 99% it updates your models list. I believe it also does some checks and if, as you mentioned in another post, you have a slow connection this can take a long time.
I assume you are running some kind of anti-virus software and that also slows that process down as it want's to check all the checks. Most anti-virus software allows you to specify a directory to be excluded from checks. I found a substantial decrease in check times when I excluded my vghd folder from virus checks.
NOTE: You should only do this if you're comfortable with what that entails!
@ShadowTeK & all...I was on dial up for 3 years with VG (2.95kb/sec!)& I would get the 99% hang up often ...tho not for the two hours that you report. I would just wait for it to clear and eventually it did. Now that I'm on a fast speed set up I haven't seen it much at all, 'tho it did happen for maybe 10 seconds a couple of times.
that long wait after the progress bar hit 99% is very unusual for VG (i know of install routines that hit 99% after 1 minute and then work 1 hour till they are finished;-) ) but as long as it doesn't happen everytime you download a show i would say don't worry about it. Computers are still a mystery and at times they do things no one can explain. If it happens every time then i would suggest contacting Customer Service. But 'one time is no time' as the saying goes. Just to clarify: The Progress display after 99% is nothing out of the ordinary. But the time it is shown has never been longer than 5 minutes here and that also very seldom.
Ah yes, but with a really, really slow internet connection, whay could be 5 or 10 minutes to some, could be easily over an hour on the same really, really slow connection.
Not an answer I know, but when the connection speed is that slow, even small data chunks will take a long time.
