If you subscribe are eligible to buy the classic cards? Or do you still have to buy 100 cards before you are eligible?

No and Yes..

No you don't get to buy the classics with a subscription. Yes you still need the 100 cards.
Even after the 100 cards the classics are pay as you go..
Not included as part of the subscription.
