Hello all,
I am new subsriber to virtuagirl and I must say i am impressed best looking software I have seen yet. I am also intersted in Desktopbabes but when I install it and run it it opens up as Vitrtualgirl and absoulutly nothing will work and I have to reinstall V-girl to get it working again. Does V-girl and D-babes not work together or must you have only one piece of software at a time? I think I would enjoy both programs. Any help or advice would be appreciated

I have found that the best way to go about installing software from both sites (which you must to get them both to work together) is to install VGirl first then log in to Deskbabes and download and install the software there. Be sure you are logged in to both sites when installing, it just works better that way for some reason.
After doing that you should have a drop down in 'advanced settings' to choose either Deskbabe or VGirl skins )your choice. Under 'Desktop settings' make sure all the erotic levels are checked or Deskbabes may not work for you, Deskbabes is a lot more explicit than VGirl so all should be checked.

That's about it, they should and do work fine together

Heres my two cents on the deal.... if you are a member Of VGirl you should be able to buy girls from DeskBabes without having to install anything additional. The same should apply both ways.

I found out about DeskBabes the other night so i went to the site to see if my login would work, when it did i thought cool.. i can get these girls.

I click on a duo, click buy, then it says you must install the software to buy this card. HUH? My first thought was thats Retarded.

In my opinion DeskBabes should install the data to a totally different folder than VGirl. And install the program In:C/ProgramFiles in a totally different folder than VGirl.

That way everything can be kept neat and not all mumbo jumboed together. But that would be too easy.

I like VGirl alot but some of the stuff Totem does is moronic at best. Like come out with a totally new version 1.0.4.65 that wont let me use 30 some skins i had with the last version.

I had no problem with the last version... i think the layout was way better which made for some great looking skins.

I also dont like the way the demo's are displayed with "My collection" they should have been kept separate like before.

At least my seven different card sets still work.. But Totem will find a way to change that i'm sure.

1.0.4.6x versions included updates to support the extended security model for DB. At the time of release (of DB website) it was necessary to get the software from there because it was not on VG.

It was simple, you got new stuff and you needed a newer player to access it. This happens from time to time on VG as well!

Now that VG is also 1.0.4.65 I suspect that technically you do not need to install DB at all (provided that you got 1.0.4.65 from VG). Either way, you really only need one of the two pieces of software (as far as I can see) and the only benefit of installing both is to get the software specific skins. With the skins also come the weblinks to the associated sites.

For example, on my second machines, never installed anything from DB! 1.0.4.65 and I can play DB shows. It might be that the download or the install sets a flag on your account on the server.

So I am agreeing, looks like something could be made easier. But disagreeing in that a shared program and shared model/data folders works well (IMHO).

Well first of all thanks to everyone for their help. I am not sure what I did except I had ro rinstall VG becuse it just stopped working as well and suddenly after I did that DB started working and VG. So it sounded like a combo of all your help and sugestions. For that I am thankful and happy downloading. Thanks again
