Can anyone check if clip 6 on the Mia Sun - Hot Like The Sun card plays in 4K. As far as I'm concerned this clip skips and doesn't play in either small or large mode? I have downloaded the card twice, according to the procedure. Thanks for your help.

I haven't checked the other resolutions.

in 4K clip 6 - e1539_6144203.vghd has the Bad file size of 33,554,432 bytes it does not play.

it plays in all 3 of the other resolutions, 3K, 1080P, 720P
In 3K it has the Good file size of 45,711,027 bytes
in 1080P it has the Good file size of 34,721,423 bytes
in 720P it has the Good file size of 27,546,638 bytes

Some useless information:
in the data folder, most cards have an XML file.

you will see a section like this:
<id>e1539</id>
<version>2</version>
<resolution>720p,1080p,3K,4K</resolution>
<resolutionSize r720p="622464" r1080p="787942" r3K="1042089" r4K="1534942" />

the resolution size is in KibiBytes which is equal to bytes divided by 1024

further down in the XML file is this section
<show>
<duration>60499</duration>
<size>637403611</size>

size is in bytes for the 720p resolution.

this is the size of the files in the Models folder.

Both the ResolutionSize and the Size, include ONLY the files ending in .vghd
do not include any of the .demo files or other files

so to check the file size.
select ALL of the files that end in .vghd, right click on them, and check the properties.
it will report the Size of all the files combined in Bytes.
then divide that number by 1024, and that gives the size in KibiBytes.

for the 720p card the size in bytes is: 637403611
(637403611 / 1024) rounded up is 622464 KibiBytes

Thats about all you need to know about the file size and the XML file.

I doubt clip 6 in 4K will get fixed.
so you can Make a Hybrid card.
Download in 3K
rename the folder e1539 to e1539-3K ( saves the 3K files )
then redownload it in 4K ( it will make a new folder e1539)

now copy the file e1539_6144203.vghd from the e1539-3K folder
and Paste it in the e1539 folder, allow it to overwrite the existing file.

you now have all of the files in 4K, except for the single 3K file e1539_6144203.vghd
this is a Hybrid card.

On my old Potatoe Lap top, I often had hybrid cards with the standing clips in 1080p size, and the Table clips in 720p size
because the 1080p table clips played slow, but the 720p table clips played ok

It works very well @Wyldanimal.

I replaced the faulty 4K clip with the 3K clip, and now the 4K card plays all clips including clip 6 in 3K.

Thanks for the troubleshooting with creating a hybrid card. That's always good to know.

Obviously the ideal would be for Totem to fix the clip, but otherwise this at least plays the entire 4K card. 😊

Clip 6 is unplayable for me too at 4K. I deleted and redownloaded the clip and it still refuses to play.

now copy the file e1539_6144203.vghd from the e1539-3K folder
and Paste it in the e1539 folder, allow it to overwrite the existing file.

Lol!
It works.
It means is better to save them in all resolutions: 4K, 3K, 1080p, 720p.

Just to clarify. If we already have these shows they will not disappear?

@wyldanimal once again you are the absolute man thank you very much for another save solution. Only question is would doing a rebuild collection at any point affect anything?

Only question is would doing a rebuild collection at any point affect anything?

No, The Rebuild Collection only takes an Inventory of the files you have on your local system, Plus it might download missing files in the data folders / update the regular Card Images.

So it is Important to make a custom card image for all of the removed cards.
I just make a copy of the regular card
then rename it.
Rebuild Collection will not affect custom card images.
but it Might replace the regular card image with a blank one if the card has been removed from the store.

I just make a copy of the regular card
then rename it.
But if you have already lost the regular card image, then a screen capture of the card while it's playing will give you an Image to use. Just crop and size it to make a custom card image.

The One thing to NEVER do...

Never Update a group Selection, because you might have one of the Removed cards in the Selected Group.

Doing an Update on a removed card will ***** it to try to download it's files again.
and some of the removed cards, no longer have files on the server.

Doing an Update could result in a loss of the files.
If you don't have them backed up some where.
you can not recover them...

So Never Update a card removed from the store.

For that Reason, I put all of my Removed cards in Hidden.
That way I can't accidentally group Select them.
When I want to play one of them
I will either use a saved playlist with them in it.
or I will switch to the Hidden cards and play them from there.

@Wyldanimal I've basically just recopied my entire collection onto a separate external drive that I've kept on the shelf plug in and update once or twice a year so I should have everything I need if something happens (I Hope). Losing the card images is no big deal to me as long as they still play. The only images I've ever lost out of those who were removed so far were Alizee, Divine and Priscilia Jones but I will have to try that rename trick anyways. Do I keep the renamed card along with the numbered one as a duplicate?

@jclown781 ... creating a custom face card image (before it is deleted) is certainly one approach.
The current data folder is only a little over 3Gb (and disc storage is so cheap) .. I now just copy/update that folder to my backup drive and can always recover/replace any deleted face cards. (that I hadn't already lost 😕)

As for keeping renamed (_custom) face cards as well as the original ... it's your choice, the average face card is only around 30K bytes.
However if you have the originals in archive, you can always create '_custom' images if/when required.
