Can I download model data to an external drive to save c: drive space?

Yes - how to do it is described in the Data Management section of the app's built in user manual. It may also be in the tutorials but I have not checked that. It is well worthwhile using these as they will answer many questions you may have and may tell you about features you did not even know existed . It is also worthwhile looking at the various posts in the "Did You Know That" section of the forum.

    Go to the settings page,
Ensure that "Advanced Settings" are enabled.
Scroll down to the Data section
Click on the Change Folder button

This will then display a list of the folders that you are currently using.

Then either

Click on the Change folder icon to the far left of the folder that you want to change
Then specify the location you want to use for the downloaded files

or

Click on the Add folder icon
Then specify a second folder to use alongside the existing one

In the first case I think you will be offered the option to have the program move the files itself. If you do not use this option you can move them yourself later.

In the second case any new downloads will go to whichever folder is on the disk with the most free space. However you can manually move the files between any folders that you are using and the program will still find them. I use two flders, one on my C: disk and one on a large external disk. I keep all of the animations on the external disk and copies of some of them on the C: drive so that I always have access to those when I take my laptop on a journey.

Note, this only changes where the animation files are stored - but the other data associated downloaded with a card is small. if you are also dowloading the bonus pictures and videos you can put them anywhere you want (the program does not use this bonus material, or even keep track of whether you have downloaded it, so you can move it about freely.).
