The special event card method is the worst.

So why it´s called "Special EVENT Card"?

It is historical. The first few were only available via genuine, one off, special events - the first being an Advent Calendar - with no way to get that event's card later. The events were truely special, the cards were not.

Gambling for them was introduced only after people ***** that if they missed the event, or simply did not want to participate in it, then there was no way to get its card. Though it is not certain that it was done in response to the complaints or if it had been always been planned. Having the games is known to have been planned, Totem have said so, but whether or not SECs were always part of that plan I do not know.

Unfortunately the name has not changed. It is still, just barely, justifiable but only just and too my mind stretches the meaning of "special" to breaking point.

Yes, and the meaning of "Event" is stretched as well. Time for changing...

I remember, i think it was last summer, they did with one SEC. You got it when you baught all new releases of the month. I think they made a special price for buying all at once, too.

@Wyldanimal

Totally agree with you
BUT
Concerning the progress bar you should be able to fill it by only spending a few hundred credits.
I seem to remember one recently needed 1200 credits spent to fill it

I basically agree - but it depends very much on how much those participating could, on average, be expected to win on their way to filling the progress bar.

Although I don't like it I have always accepted that gambling for SECs must be good for Totem and that is highly unlikely to alter unless the legal requirements for such things change. One thing that I would have liked to have seen is that SEC cards were genuinely special in themselves so that they are clearly identified as being very different from other cards - essentially different enough to be seen as a different product.

I agree. I will never play one of the gambling games and I just resign myself to the fact that there are cards that I can never have. But I may benefit from the revenue that those games bring in for Totem, which may allow them to pay the models enough to attract them and may support the whole structure while keeping prices reasonable for the generic, credits-only buyers. Perhaps we should be grateful that there are those who are willing to participate.

I have mixed feelings on the nature of the SEC cards themselves. I agree that it would make more sense to have made them truly special and differentiated from standard cards, but, on the other hand, if they were, I may be much more upset that I can't have them.

Oui il y a un certain risque, pour ne pas dire un risque certain 😄

It would, I hope, have reduced the number of complaints from people who wanted to complete their collections of cards whether that be of all the cards or of their favourite models. At least it should have made it clearer (and easier to explain) that they were collecting two different things and it was their choice to collect both or not.

If at least games of chance like 25 for example only won wildcards and not SECs at random. Users wanting a sec of a particular model would be less disappointed 😉

Good point. The presence of a Little Caprice card that I can't have is a little disappointing to me. And, if Chiara or Lorena ever come back and make a card that Totem deems SEC, I will suddenly become a reluctant but enthusiastic gamblin' man. 😂

I'm fine to attach the SEC to a monthly prepurchase, or obtainable by spending a number of credits in store, or buying packs, etc.
But attaching SEC to a gamble game, that is DISGUSTING

What if Totem put SEC cards up for sale, after a period of time past their initial release (like a year later), for a higher number of credits? So you would have to play the games to have a chance to get them for the first year, but you would have the option to buy them at a premium price at a time far enough in the future to still encourage people to play the games? Could that be a reasonable compromise?

In the event of getting a joker card in any way, either winning it in one of the games or getting through the progressive bar (they last did this for the Chinese new year event) the SMART thing to do is ONLY use the joker card to get a special event card. To use a joker card to get any regular card as how you can with a gift card would be foolish.

Most people point out problems and *****, but the i-stripper won't change their minds at all. Because they'll already think consumers are at their feet. They don't need consumers' opinions. Their pride, their conceit, has already engulfed them. And they'll keep going the same way, thinking only what's in favor of them is right. I think it's really pathetic.

Fv<K Gambling Period

I feel so sorry for OCD Completionists not being able to get all the cards of their favorite models.

I probably won't buy any cards until this SEC thing stops.

I never bought a lot of cards any way as I am picky but to take away cards from normal purchasing never made sense to me.

It will not matter when Totem folds or moves on to a new venture.

If this company goes belly up most of us won't be able to access our collections anyway these girls are like beer we are only renting them.

@spoophmaniac that's very pessimistic 😪. The Seriously Expensive Cards are very unlikely to stop I reckon so you might never buy a card again. Just ignore the SECs, they are not worth the trouble.
Do you have information to believe Totem is in trouble? 😕
If it did go belly up the app would work for a time until the operating systems eventually will not support it I guess.
May be in that situation the code for it might be made open source and kept working that way? 😐
Damn I wasn't going to say anymore on this thread! I need a dominatrix to tell me off good and proper! Tell me what a bad, bad, boy I've been! 😲
