I was wondering if anyone else seems to have any issues running istripper on mac. I can run the shows however the software when playing shows seems to use a lot of computing power and the mac gets quite hot. I own two macs a desktop and macbook pro laptop and it seems to be a issue on both, does anyone know of a fix or sulution for this?
I run on a 2013 Mac Pro and on a 2016 MacBook Pro. I've never noticed excessive heat, but iStripper does occasionally put so much load on the Mac that both iStripper and other applications slow down. After a while this seems to resolve itself, but it may take minutes. I suspect that the Mac version is not well tuned.
I've found when running in desktop mode, iStripper uses the CPU quite heavily and the computer can get hot. If you use full screen mode, the CPU load goes down quite a bit and the computer seems a lot more happy. (I guess it's using the GPU instead? Not sure.) This is on a relatively recent iMac.
I would agree desktop mode could use some optimizing! I pretty much avoid it because of the CPU load.
The desktop runs on the CPU. Screensaver/fullscreen run on the GPU. There's a registry edit setting that allows multi threaded rendering on/off that has been known to help stuttering/load in desktop mode. If you don't know much about the registry you can break things if not carefull. I would tell you but feel I probably wouldn't explain it well enough because you have to create the registry entry. There's a thread discussing it somewhere I'll see if I can't find it.....
This thread is for WINDOWS I wouldn't know if this applies to mac but anyway...
