As a recently joined member it came as a great surprise when I got a note deeming my profile offensive. The problem was the picture. I had at first put in a Teddy Bear as a stopgap and looked for something better. I put in a girls portrait - head and shoulders but with breasts uncovered. It was simply a beautiful girl who happened to be topless! Although tasteful i realise that I broke the rules and apologise unreservedly. The picture has now been changed to a penguin.
Two points to make. Those who ticked the offensive box did so at the same time as a virtuagirl was dancing topless and bottomless on their screen. Virtuagirl is a site which glories in the female form and am sure most members would have been delighted with the portrait. I accept that this does not absolve me from breaking the rules. Secondly I should admit that both the Teddy Bear and Penguin are topless and if thought offensive I shall change them at once to an unopened tin of baked beans (ie lid intact)!

It was probably one of the mods that removed your image due to the *****. There are basically 2 reasons for not allowing nude Avatars on the website:

1, It's an open forum and that means that under age kids can surf these areas.
2, Totem want to keep the no nude areas of the forum "Work Friendly" so that adult members can visit these areas without getting fired for watching nude girls at their office desk.

I agree that this website is all about beautiful girls getting naked and a topless Avatar might seem harmless in that context. But I'm not the one making the rules :)

Hope this makes things more clear. Now cheer up and lets enjoy the beautiful Virtuagirls get nude and naughty ;)

In my page sometimes show a annoucement from adult friend finder, and it show lesbians in topless I think totem have to change that because if is not nudity is not nudity and it work to announcement too obviusly I like naked girls but not in page because I have to hide the window at anytime.

I can confirm that I receive ads on this site for AdultFriend finder with nudity, and I am not a Platinum member (yet)

I understand, from something TotemRex said, that the advertisements were removed only for the Platinum members. (thankfully I no longer have to see that ad for AFF)

Maybe I misunderstood, I thought he was commenting on the fact that there is nude advertising on the site, but rules prohibit avatars/posting with nudity. I fully understand the no ads for Platinum, RHIP (Rank Hath Its Privilege). I was just confirming that I have seen ads with nudity too.

you've got it right, avatars have always been policed that way for the reasons stated above

from what i gather totem are in the process of getting non-nude banners made which they can use, in the meantime non-plat members are stuck with the racy & somewhat contradictory ads

About the nude adds. Although I'm glad they are gone from the Platinum area they are, as Geeseh says, still in contradiction with the second reason for not allowing nude avatars. If they want members to be able to view the no nude areas without ***** of getting caught "surfing a pornsite" they need to remove these adds from those areas all together.

I understand Totem need adds to pay for all the "free surfers" but it's a shame that it still is the paying customers that get slapped with these tasteless nude adds. (yes, the nude adds only show for members that have logged in and bought at least one card)

To comply with the no nude policy the only areas where these nude adds should be placed (if at all) is in the "User Art", "Auctions" and the "Platinum area". This since nude postings are banned from all other areas of the forum. Still this means that only logged in paying members will see these adds.

I wish Totem could ban nude adds all together. "No Nude" adds I can live with ;)

It's a nonsense rule anyway.

You can get fired for surfing for private purposes no matter if its adult content or cars.

I know and agree... the problem is that Totem make rules for us mods that they then break themselves by posting nudity in the no nude area...
