The same happened to me.
I couldn't get rid of it.
I succumbed and changed to iStripper.
I ***** iStripper.

Totem have ruined their product.

This is a disgrace!
There is no way to say "NO" - the popup keeps poppingup.
I have returned to VG for a second time because istripper hits my CPU too hard, playlists are totally different, there is no facility to activate and deactivate multiple cards.

Why did Totem take such a long time to create this istripper mess? And why have so many features of VG been discarded?

I feel sorry for peeps who must change erotic settings a lot while using fullscreen.
Erotic Settings is no longer conveniently on the fullscreen page. You have to go hunt for it in Settings page..thats a backward step imho

@ET
I am not changing erotic settings. More likely it is accessories that are either required or not required when a clip is chosen for fullscreen.

Hi Dr. Doom, I wasn't referring to your issues btw, just adding another comment as I explore iStripper. The problem you are having with deactivating models cards: I have referred to how you might overcome that in the Fullscreen Discussion thread.

Ok i've read posts from @Rex and there seems to be no way to get rid of the pop-up in "84" I was hoping not to switch until the last minute when i seen more changes take place. but It's so annoying that i gotta change.

Serious strong arm move.

But before i do there are about 6 go to fav/playlists that i have for my collection, if i'm understanding all the posts right the funtion to make them is not there yet.

Is there a quick backdoor way to make fav/playlists (without a playlist manager)

Just switched over to IS i got a couple questions...

1) Is there a way to make the writing/print bolder and bigger?
I have my computer conneted to my tv with some distance from the couch and the writing is very small.

2) Do i really have to do every single replacement card with the _custom?
That will take forever to do all one by one is there an better way?

3) All of my PM messages are written out and transferred over to this new software does Totem know what's in these?

4) Where's the back button for the forum?

This is something new for sure trying to work my way around the forum through the system instead of the website.

@Grabandt I understand you like the old VirtuaGirl better, but this software is set to expire at the end of june and we have no other options.

Do you mean "expire" as in: you won't be supporting the old versions of the software, or that I'll be ***** to upgrade my program? (shudder).

I've been more than happy with my older version, and was not at all keen on the upgrade (at the time of me stopping buying cards) where up to 10 girls could be on the screen at once. All that was too much of a mess, and the controls were all manner of messed up.

I've not been following the VG site lately, as I've been happy with my sizeable collection, but I would be MOST unhappy if I'd be ***** to change the program.

@CalicoClyde

yes, the Current Version of VG 1.2.0.84 will expire and probably stop connecting to the server.
Your Collection remains yours and will reamin on your Computer, but the Rights to view them, Which Come from the Server, might not get updated, by using the Old Version.

However..

You are using a Very Old Version. Possibly 3 or 4 versions OLD.
It might not be affected by the June Expiration.

but that Version is missing many of the New Features, and Won't play the Current Generation of Cards.

At some point in time, you may want to buy a Card that your Version can't play.
So you will have to update.

I suggest you update Now, and get the Change / learning Curve out of the Way.
We all resist Change, but I think this is for the better.

To comment on few things in this thread...

The vg/iStripper software is a client which needs a server. I think any plan to stay with old software is probably doomed to failure. But you can wait until the ship sinks I guess. This isn't crucial software. More transition help is available now since we are all going through it.

iStripper has support for playlists and it can support a playlist of clips rather than just cards. We lose some functionality with iStripper and this does represent poor judgement on Totem's part. But we gain more functionality than we lose. Furthermore I believe Totem will eventually wake up and restore most of the features they removed.

As for PM's, I am not aware of any forum where the management is prevented from reading PM's. I am sure that Totem has always had the ability to read PM's. I doubt that will change. If you want private communication with a member, use PM's to exchange mail addresses of temporary mailboxes. Then use email, Totem can't read that. But the guys that run your email servers can. Switch to phones. Or meet in person. You can use public key cryptography with email but I think that major governments have the juice to break it. True privacy to hard to achieve.

I was a moderator at a tech forum but I became inactive. One day I got an email from the admin telling me that I had PM with a job offer. He was reading my PM's and really, I didn't mind. I don't have an expectation that forum PM's are truly private.

@Wintergreen thanks for your knowledge on the subject i hadn't really thought about it before until the new program. It just had a openness to it that just made me feel like anybody could read them. I guess i got use to the VG folders.

Makes me want to be cautious now about what i write in a "PM"

In other threads Rex has told us that .84 will no longer function after the end of June. It has an absolute end of life date built in as an anti-hacking measure. Rex tells us that Toten cannot extend the life of .84. It was not very smart of Totem to paint themselves into a corner like that. But what's done is done. We have to convert to iStripper or abandon our collection of cards. I'm sure that some users will go with option 2. But I have switched to iStripper. I hope you will at least try iStripper. If not, well enjoy your collection for the next couple of weeks.

@Ironman79
You're quite welcome. I'm trying to be useful here. 😊

I suspect that Totem wants to make more improvements in iStripper that will not be backward compatable with VG. Another possibility is that iStripper has some server-related performance features not present in VG.

@Wintergreen:
Sorry but thats bullshit.... what Totem did that they can switching back, but just when they will see that they will lose very much money that they would get. But when every don't having balls like you and switching to istripper than they will win. Importen is that the Comunity holding together.

@all:
I tryed istripper and i'm very sad of it and switch back to VG. I don't want and i don't will install IStripper anymore.

I've never considered PMs to be private here, since both mine and @HSS's accounts were hacked badly at the same time.
We were given new passwords, but never an explanation :-(

Just switched over to IS i got a couple questions...
....
3) All of my PM messages are written out and transferred over to this new software does Totem know what's in these?

humm... I ***** to be the one to burst everyones bubble...
but their is no Such thing as a Private Message on the internet..
Any Site that you are a member of, and use that's site Communication Tools...
Means you are putting your Messages On that Sites Servers.

Every Message has to go through some type of Server....
That Server most likely keeps that message in a Database.

So in that Sense... NO, you PM's are not Private...
Some IT person who manages the Server / Database probably can Access all of the messages.

E-mail is NOT Safe!
E-mail is sent as Plain Text through the internet. It HOPS from Computer to Computer till it finds the final Destination.
Along the way, anyone on that Hop list, can keep a copy if they want...

A hand written Letter, Sealed in an envelope, and Mailed, is More Private.

The real Question though... Are the PM's monitored?
I highly Doubt it...
Totem does not have the Staff, nor would they want to monitor PM's.. Not unless there was Cause to do so..
Break the Rules, Cause trouble... and Maybe it would mean they look at your Account History..
But NO one is Monitoring or looking at your PM's..

As alreay stated.. Moderators DO NOT have access to the PM's.

Good old @Greybeard would be rolling in his grave with laughter if they read his PMs to me. GRHS !!
Inspite of what @wyldanimal says, I think its prudent if you recieve a new password from any company
AlwAys alWaYs ALwAYS delete that email from your mail program as soon as you get it, and empty the trash !!

Omg.
Dont believe EOL for VG. With Microsoft you normally get several years notice of an application end of life and then nothing to stop you using it.
Also not sure if i dreamt it but whilst Istripper beta versions were being release a forum statement said totum would continue support vg and if you didnt like istripper at anytime you could just go back to using VG ???.

Totem has had an expiry date on each version, almost since the beginning.

The decision to move to iStripper was a fundemental business decision and the cost to role back would be astronomical.

There MAY be potential options, but that would mean maintaining two separate versions with the older one becoming increasingly unable to play new clips.

That is not a viable position for any software company
