As mentioned by Lezardo, be careful of your Use on Integer Numbers 5 100 -10 Integers have no decimal points.

Most of the formulas require floating point number and it's always best to include the Zero.
5.0 100.0 -10.0 0.1

If I make use of Variables that you can adjust, they are all Floats unless I note that it should be an Integer with No Decimal point.

The MAC will error if an Integer is used where a Float is needed.

But it seem the Windows version allows it in same cases.
Get in the Habit of using the Decimal point and the Zero.

@Wyld thanks for letting us know about nesting shaders in quad Nodes etc..in your script comments ~ amazing stuff ;)

@Hombre thanks for well commenting your SCN's and shaders..also the speed tweeks, eh..that should be change the x5 to change the *5.0 non ? hehe ;)

@lezardo I did not know OSX was case sensitive in the coding. I will have to change my shaders folder from /shaders to /Shaders..

@bsett: Just downloaded your LAXXX scene. Very nicely done! You've paid a lot of attention to details.

http://scenes.virtuastripper.net/bsett_LAXX.zip

This was on WA's other thread but I wanted to comment here :)

Two points I noted tho...

Firstly, although the shadow is really neat with the centre girl, it doesn't fit logically with the other reflections everywhere. For my own use, I switched that to a reflection the same as the others ;)

Secondly, I also added deny 'top' to all 3 girls. I had Melena on a swing, halfway thru the floor and her reflection overhead. Weird! Hehehe

Other than that, I like it :D Great first sharing effort buddy. Keep em coming!

@No6 ~ said ..'Its a bit like a hydra - you finish one scene and two more spring up" Art is fractal then then non ?..as is nature. Wonderful work !
also..@bsett 'Use and modify as you wish' ..thank you, thank you..I think same with my creations, however if I share your remixed wonderful forum works , I will try to put a ..'x bsett' or a 'x Number6' in this case in the end of name unless is too may letters.

@bsett welcome. Standing and clapping re your first creations here. Amazing.. Do more ! and @No.6 a long gestation, & truely spectacular outcome!! thanks to @LP for contributing to scene files this way.

note to Whoever:
embeded links to @Wyld's new Members Share Scenes thread would be very cool thing to have as an embedded footer to every post on this thread imo.

Apologies.

I did meant to put in something about extracting to No.6_Fracedelic Scenes folder. I've actually done that on the Fun With Fractals thread started by @Lunarpup.

Edit - it was still the last post on the thread so I've edited it to include the extract instructions.

I haven't yet had a chance to check out all the new stuff yet but I will do soon. It all looks very interesting and a big thanks to all the new contributors. I think @EverthangForever thought he was talking to himself a few months ago.

I've actually ordered a new graphics card - its only a cheapish "supposedly" mid range one but I am hoping it will manage some of the lower end shaders so I can see what everyone is raving about.

Not a bad idea at all, @ET. Come on, Beast, you have the power. Don't be shy! ;) You started the thread for just this reason, right?

Edit: @No.6: Mine is a Geforce Gtx 650, midrange and will handle most shaders fairly well. 2GB ram with the latest OpenGL 4.5 driver. I think anything much less than that will ***** serious stuttering on the clips. I find the shaders play fine but the girls' clips can stutter if there are too many calculations in the shader. So far, most of the scenes I've viewed with shaders play just fine. Only a couple ***** from lack of ram.

I'm no expert on this but is there a way to borrow ram from the pagefile or similar to work with the GPU?

@HombreSinSombra Thanks for the advise. Made your suggested changes and like it a lot better. Also I commented out the two side girls and their reflections for making a single girl dance viewer.

Have a few works in progress going on but taking my time to fine tune them.

@Hombre here is that footer.,sort of.. I couldn't find a html syntax to indicate a last page ~ last post, (a more useful link generally imho) without having to show the current actual page or post number. Maybe every post would be overkill, however occasionally one of us can footer a post of this somewhere down each page.

@Hombre.. cool work adapting another shadertoy fragment shader in in your latest HSS - Fractal Space, for the member created shares. Love the way it expands/contracts and slides around giving a sense of depth & space, while the center with the model anchored is restful to the eyes. tks lots ;)

@ET: YW, buddy. That shader was only uploaded to Shadertoy yesterday so I grabbed it quick! ;)

I've just uploaded another rehash of the Firewall, fragment/vertex shader mix using Beast's new tweaks. There's 2 images in the folder and look very different. VG will select either at random.

(WA's Thread for sharing scenes).

@bsett: I didn't mean my post to you as advice, so much. I'm a newbie here too! I only commented my thoughts but you didn't have to take them literally :) If you like your girls with shadows instead of reflections, COOL! Art rules are made to be broken ;) Although denying the 'top' was probably a good idea in this case :) Awaiting your next job...

Received a PM from @mrcrowley06, this evening. Actually 2 now. He has redone a scene using the firewall I have used and kindly asked my permission to share it here. I have already replied in the affirmative of course :)

Firstly, I didn't create the shader so anybody can use the same stuff from Shadertoy or any other open source sharing site. We are all about sharing and helping each other here, right?

Secondly, to anyone reading this, you have my permission if you wish it, to use anything I share here or on WA's thread in any way you like on VG. No need to ask in future, but a little note to say who or what inspired you would be nice. Thanks! :)

Edit: Update. @mrcrowley06 has posted his scene here:

@mrcrowley06: No worries, buddy :)

I just felt like tweaking my firewall/vertex shader mix again. No6 was right about the 'Hydra's head' thing :/

Here's a s-cap of a warped and semi-transparent green grid bottom part, plus the image if anyone wants to swap out the image or add to the original :) This achieves an almost 3D effect. The girls look like they are dancing in the rain with this tweak :)

Edit: If you want to use this, change the code in .scn file to add opacity: 0.5: ( Add it to the 'Background' folder and rename it accordingly. You will of course need to rename the 'Background3' texture at the beginning of the .scn code :)

// this node will be the front most sprite - to Hide the Bottom edge of the vertext shader.
// load the Sprite that will be in front of the other two shaders.

sprite {
pos: 400, 0
//pos: 400, 0, 20 // remove to hide this node
hotspot: 0.5, 0.0
size: 820, 450
source: Background3
opacity: 0.5
material: false
blend: true

@all, I've noticed that nesting parameters with an enclosing node works to retain 3D camera. however I had problems then using floodlights. Comments in the new upload FractalGarden013 scene.

Edit: @WA's dropbox for uploading scenes can experience delays. With small zips I've never seen a smooth progress bar, so I guess if the line is busy..its worth giving the upload a little time to complete before cancelling. For me, its alwyas done by the time I get back from making a coffee ;)

@hulk76
For any scene in fullscreen, you can only play ONE clip of the SAME model at a time coincidently. It does not matter if you have center, right, left or 10 positions. Only one position per model (not per card) is allowed to be played at the same time. That includes all other cards of same model. So you cannot see two of Anna Tatu on same scene for instance :(

You cannot program your preferred sequence of models to be shown. The sequence of models is selected only by the software, and is randomly selected from the models you have made to be ACTIVE in your collection.

Edit: Apologies to those who had error extracting or dloading my latest zipped scene FractalGarden013. It now works !

@ET: Got your latest Fractal Garden 13. NICE! Just one thing I noticed in your code and tried it in one of my own, too. The clipNameSprite is before the clipSprite in the z-level. Place it after the clipSprite and it doesn't appear. Is this something to do with using a 3D camera and nesting the quad node within a separate node?

I noticed in your scene that the name came up behind the models. To combat this, I shifted the name over to one side.

Re: Your answer to @hulk76. We can play multiple cards of one girl in normal desktop small mode but not yet in fullscreen. That would be a nice touch! :)

Multiple Clips from the Same Model:
When Full Screen was First Introduced.
Yes, you could have More than One clip from the Same Model.

On the Paris Strip Club. Multi Scene, I believe they felt it was not realistic to see more than One of the same Model at the same time.

So on the Next release, this ability was removed.

Only One Clip from a Model at a time.

sure @Hombre, the clipnamesprite gets overlayen by the model animation regardless of what sequence it is listed in the code. However there were other strange things happening from nesting the shader with 3D camera: If I try to use floodlights at all, inside or outside the nesting node, the model promptly disappears altogether ;(

@ET
after reading HSS comments I took a closer look at your Scene construction.

I made a few repairs and added some comments.
please have a look at it..

http://scenes.virtuastripper.net/ET-FractalGarden013c.zip

That is Just the scene file with my notes and corrections in it.

If you Compare that to your scene file.
I think you will see where you left out some Node Closing Brackets
You left the Quad open, and that had an impact on the rest of the scene.

Missed a semi colon : on the clipSprite
That prevented the clipNameSprite from working.

and just some general positions and Z levels.

You should be able to add your lighting effects now.

It can get ***** if you forget to close just one node..
Because down in the scene, everything is affected by that open node..

You, guys are doing a great job here and it's really interesting to see your skills developing, and all the new creation (artwork) of yours (though all of this is for me personally absolutely useless - don't care about the Full Screen option at all). But watching this kind of tinkering is educating and entertaining at the same time.

But .. would it be possible to keep all the "Sharing Scenes .." in one place? Right now there are two almost identical topics running at the same time, plus Tutorials, and it's pretty hard to follow all the stuff, when the useful info is sometimes duplicated, sometimes splintered between these multiple threads? Plus a lots of comments, which takes time to read ..

Thank you!

Tks @Wyld, a common problem when cutting & pasting code around, is to leave out the colons & semicolons, and they are hard to see later unless you know to look for them. I'll have to watch that in future.

@Hombre, just downloaded your latest scene at

@MrCrowley your latest Member share scene is Great atmosphere because it gives a nice sense of space looking into it. Having 10 model placeholders it will be heavy going for older PCs perhaps. The biggest problem I have is getting a "No Clips are Available for this Scene" banner whenever I have only a few of the more recent cards activated in my collection. Its a ***** always having to activate all cards just because the VGPlayer cannot fill all placeholders in a scene. I even get the banner when all placeholders are showing models present sometimes. I wish all cards included at least one inout, one pole and one table clip.
Also the new interactive half masked clips might need a new deny/allow: syntax available for some people's scenes.

@Wyldanimal thank you for fixing this thread title ;)

Thanks, Wyld. That's, what I meant .. Member Created Scenes and Tutorials should do the job very well.
And the current thread could be renamed, if possible: "Discussions about Creating Scenes", so it would be more clear, which is which.

At the moment it's pretty time-consuming to find something you really need. Tips and useful "how to's" can be found here in discussions as well, instead of being in Tutorials all together. But as here is also a lot of personal chat, those really useful tips and guidances simply tend to be lost.

Edit: WA, you're really fast .. renamed it already! };-))

@mrcrowley06: Your new scene runs great on my mid-range PC :) Only suggestion I can think of is to separate the front two girls a little more. ie: Add and minus maybe 150 pixels to right and left front girls. I would love to visit this place with 10 hot girls dancing everywhere ;) NICE!

@Buzzy: You are right, my friend. This has developed into 3 distinct areas for posting. Tutorials, Scene upload links and discussion. The problem is, imho that once a member uploads a scene on WA's new thread with a little description note about the scene, to respond to that, we should use THIS discussion thread to talk about it. Out of necessity, some things must be duplicated (Screencaps in particular) or nobody will know what we are talking about :/

I have deliberately left out the s-cap from mrcrowley06's scene to illustrate this. If you want to see what I'm talking about, you have to visit WA's other thread. As long as there's a recent post on either of these 2 threads, they are not hard to find. I now have links to all 3 threads saved in favourites in Internet Explorer so I know where to look.

I can't think of a better way of doing this. Beast has done his best to make it easier for us all to find what we want and that's why ET suggested an automatic 'Footer' link to the upload thread at the bottom of each post in this thread. I realise that it may not be so easy to do for just this one thread.

Anyway, on behalf of all of us newbies to scene creation, thanks for your comments, Buzzy.
