Greetings all. I've been a VGHD member for about 2 years now but have never taken the plunge and subscribed. I've always chosen to purchase tickets so as to simply purchase only the cards I wanted. Now I am considering a subscription but I'm not sure about the details of how that system operates. I do understand that with a subscription that VGHD automatically downloads a new card each day into one's collection but what I'm curious about is what is the typical automatic selection choices like? Does VGHD auto select just randomly? Do they give you the newest/highest ranked cards frequently or does one have to get a ton of older/lower ranked cards before seeing one of the best cards show up? Does the subscription collections include VG Classic cards? I'd ***** to pay the subscription amount and yet still have to buy tickets to get particular cards that I want the most.

@lonewofx. It is just luck of the draw with the subscription what you get. You may get newer cards or older cards. But you definitely won't get the classics on subscription. They are only available by ticket purchase and then only when you become a platinum member.

It all boils down to cost versus selection.

The more tickets you buy the cheaper, so lets consider the most cost effective. 50 for $50.
So you are looking at $2 per card (or waiting and hoping to catch on sale) and you get only the cards that you want.
You are unlikely to stumble on a gem.
You are likely to get 25 to 50 cards.

The subscription, again consider the most cost effective. $59.70 for 6 months.
For that you get around 186 days (half a year) plus 10 tickets.
Thats 186 cards plus lets 5 more. Nearly 200 cards for less than $10 more.
You will have a mixture of cards. Some you *****, some you would have got anyway.

It probably depends on how many you would have liked. If you like 25% of the cards, on average you should still get close to 50 that you like. Even if you only like 10%, thats 19 so perhaps significantly lower than the 25.
