I have seen answers to this, but not all of this, scattered throughout other threads. Could someone list the differences between a subscriber & a non-subscriber account, as far as ticket price, calendar, trailers, receiving the same card or not and any other differences that I and other newbies to VGHD may not be aware of?
ThanX!

Subscriber
  • gets a new card (full show) everyday their subscription is active
  • no repeats
(at least they're not supposed to ; until you own all but 6-7 cards)

Non-Subscriber
  • gets a new trailer (couple of teasers) everyday
  • could be a repeat of a card you already bought through tickets
(or by letting your subscription lapse)

Both
  • only allowed to have 2 (?) active installations
  • the card is yours forever once purchased
(backing up is recommended to prevent lengthy re-downloads)
(file location varies depending on whether you use XP or Vista)
  • I believe they operate from differing calendars as well (?)

Ticket prices vary based on quantity purchased ($1 a card and up)
I think that covers the basics

I am a non subscriber. It has the advantage of choosing which model i want when i want. In 1 week as a subscriber, you may get 1-7 models that you don't like, and you have no choice that you have paid for them. If you wait a few days as a non subscriber, you can get your favourites for 1 ticket.
Knowing the money grabbing society we live in, they'll probably now make this a subscription only site....hope not though. Works well the way it is now.
Works out cheaper being a non-subscriber, because in 1 month you can buy as little or as many models as you want, for 1 or 2 tickets. I get a free trailer every day, and not one is of a model i allready have, as the trailers come out before the model is due out to buy.

True, you have the choice in models, but unless you buy the largest package of tickets (50 for $50) then you will probably end up paying more for each card, but that's the cost of choice.

Works well for we folks who live with dial up and either don't want, or can't afford to join the space race(satellite).I just buy my 50 tix and bought a "tracfone" for calls & still it's hard enough to keep up with the babes I choose! I just have to remember to turn off my computer for awhile every 3 or so days to rest it a bit! If the system "glitches" and a download stalls or stops it really throws off the timing for the next card. That's why I really like it when the calendar sets me up with girls that aren't that attractive to me(so damn few).It gives the system a rest!

I went for a subscription after spending a fair it (IMHO) on some cards. I have a few cards that will be deleted (waste of "money"?) but also some ones I wouldn't have looked at in the first place. Yes - I have a wishlist ... and part of the fun is looking to see if they are on my "Coming Soon" part of the calendar.
As for what I do after 3 months ... I might have given up by then (short attention span and running under "Fusion" on a mac)

Personally, I bought a subscription and then bought the 50 tickets a couple times so that I was able to catch up and have all the cards, since there are only a very few that I don't consider worthy enough to keep.

If you do wish to buy all the cards, the best way is to get a subcription and then spend extra on tickets, because when you are a subscriber, and use the 1 ticket to buy a card on your calender, your calender is immediately refilled with cards you don't have yet. So you can buy all the cards at a rate of 1 ticket per card, and then just ride out your subscription getting all the new girls as they are released.

Though the warning about keeping enough girls unbought so you don't get duplicates in your calender is still a valid one.

ThanX for the summation. That's pretty much what I had gathered from all the posts eleswhere.

One other thing. Do subscribers & non-subs both get a 21-day calendar where all of the girls cost 1 ticket, and the girls not on the calendar cost 2 tickets?
Did the cards ever cost more than 2 tickets?

In my limited experience both get a calendar. In the non-sub version the cards all cost 1 ticket. These "fall off the end" each time a new one is added, and the free show is lost.
With a subscription you get each new day's card for "free" ... well, really you paid for it up front, but you know what I mean! The bottom row is "coming soon" and these tickets are 1 ticket if you can't wait for a week, maximum! If you buy one of the cards in this section a different one is added in your place. I've seen this elsewhere as a cheaper way of extending your collection - grab the 50 ticket bundle and blow them all on "calendar girls" ... all at one ticket each instead of the two elsewhere.

The main problem with this approach is the lack of choice. My last two shows do nothing for me, and I wouldn't have paid for either of them. Nevertheless I have a few cards I probably wouldn't have bought, based on reviews (I want dancers ... not gynaecology!)

Too many words? Sorry! I have logorrhoea
