Hello, I had a question about the VR shows. I'm going to be getting an Occulus soon and was planning on getting a show. I read the instructions and just not quite sure how it will work. So, you download the show on your computer and then you basically link your computer to your Occulus to play it? I'm wanting to make sure that if I let someone else try out the Occulus they won't be accidentally be able to see the show. Hopefully they won't be able to even see that I have a show. My fiancee and my son don't need to know! LOL

I do what you describe by using Virtual Desktop headset software with Oculus Quest 2. Virtual Desktop has it's own Video/VR player now. If you put the VR files on removable storage (e.g. USB HDD/SSD), then it won't be accessible from the headset with no history of it's existence when it's disconnected from the PC. You might need to remove VR file access from the PC quick access or PC video player's history if you are accessing the files in any way from the PC.

Another way is to use something like Skybox headset software with PC DLNA software, like Plex or Jellyfin. This is similar to how TV's can be setup to play media from a PC. Again, you'd want to remove the storage from the PC so it cannot be accessed from the headset when others are using it. I have used this method before also, but I prefer Virtual Desktop ... with Virtual Desktop, I can fully control my PC from within the headset.

Yet another way is to download the VR file directly to the headset. If you're getting the Quest 2, no PC is needed, but I don't think you'll want this, because then it's possible for other users of the headset to access the VR files inadvertently.

You can also use the Built in Browser of the Quest 2
Visit
https://www.istripper.com/
login
then visit
https://www.istripper.com/vr180

you can stream the VR shows through the Browser.

Just make sure that you have the Browser Setting Set to Clear the History
when you are done..
then there are
No Downloads and no Trace..

But I do the Same as suggested above
I've downloaded to Removable Media ( USB Stick )
and use Virtual Desktop to Explore the Removable Storage.

@mkst - Is there anything you need to set up to access the files directly from external storage. I know you have to format the drive to FAT32. Is there anything else to set up or any specific software on the Oculus required?

You'll either need Virtual Desktop or Skybox software on the headset. I prefer Virtual Desktop, since I can fully control my PC from within the headset and now it has a Video/VR player. I can easily switch from viewing VR videos, iStripper, 2D videos, VRParadise, other PCVR games, all from within the headset using Virtual Desktop. Virtual Desktop has a small piece of software (Virtual Desktop Streamer) on the PC side, which is used for PC to communicate with Virtual Desktop on the headset.

To use Skybox, you'd also need to setup a DLNA software on the PC, like Jellyfin. I prefer Jellyfin over Plex, because it has a music video category that prevents the software from searching for movie artwork.

Cela sera ma première étape 😄
O.K. @mkst, you seem to be comfortable with VR. I have a quest 2 and I need to get Virtual Desktop to see my videos which are on the pc and to use VR paradise. That's right?
I have to buy Virtual Desktop, but where should I install it. on the PC? In the helmet? 😕
This will be my first step 😄

Correct. Note that I use VR Paradise purchased from Steam. I don't have experience with the standalone version of VR Paradise.

On headset, buy Virtual Desktop from Quest 2 store. It should be available and install on the headset automatically.

On PC, download and install the Streamer app from:
https://www.vrdesktop.net/

For the best wireless experience, connect your computer to your router with an Ethernet cable. The router should be minimum 5 GHz WiFi 5 (802.11ac), 80 MHz channel bandwidth. A dedicated channel is best.
