im guessing when you buy these cards you have to buy equipment to view those?....

If you don't have a VR headset, you can look into something like Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear to use your phone as one. That's what I used for about a year before I decided to drop the money on an actual headset.

Further detail : VR videos are not cards (or shows) like we are knowing them. Cards are coming with few different clips. VR videos are composed by only one clip.
