Cara Mell's card f0420 lets us see two previews with standing clips. But when you buy the card, there are no standing clips at all in this card. I think it's not a good idea when the previews are not corresponding with the clips in the card. Maybe it's possible to add some standing clips into the card by Totem !?

@orclover Even more than for the iStripper cards this vital information should be given for the xxxiStripper cards. How many standing, how many pole and how many taskbar clips (with and without sound, and xxx).

I think there is a bigger problem. I just did a spot check of my recent purchases and I don't see any ".demo" clips for most of them!!!

Your post should have been created in a new thread since it doesn't have anything to do with ohama's post (other than they both talk about previews).

So that you know, almost all cards have 3 demo (preview) clips. I review many of the "e" cards in QA. So you're mistaken about the cards listed not having them. I'm not sure why you're not seeing them. How are you looking for them (clip list, files, or what?). What version of the software are you using? I wonder if you're using an old version that was designed to delete the demos and ended up deleting too many. Or maybe you've downloaded the recent latest version that I haven't tried yet.

Yes, poleclips have a standing model. But the previews are without pole. So, you can expect standing models without pole: this is "misleadung" the buyer. I love the standing models more when there is no pole. And maybe Totem can add some standing clips without pole 😍.

It's still my favorite card of hers! 😜

My message was triggered by the original message. I am confirming that I don't have any standing clips for that card. Apparently those standing clips were all demos. As I said the problem is much broader. It seems that the Cara Mell card is just one of many where demos are not being downloaded.

I'm running version 1.2.181 of iStripper on my Mac Pro. This is the latest Mac version currently available until Totem fixes a flaw in 1.2.183 which prevents it from loading on a Mac.

I'm aware that most cards have 3 demos. Some XXX cards have only 2 demos.

I didn't mean that there are no demos. I meant to say that the demos are not downloading. I only check 20 cards. I think there are a lot more.

I'm aware to the problem of erased demos from about 5 months ago. I was badly bitten by it. The cards in question were all purchased in the past 2 months.

I checked the missing demos in two ways:
1. I opened each card in "My Collection" and opened it's clip list
2. I opened the models folder for each card and check their contents.

No demos are present.

Again, I think this one card is simply one example of a much broader missing demo problem.

Perhaps I should have started a new thread, but I'm sure Totem will be reading this one.

I run a standard PC version of iStripper. I had no problems getting the demo clips when I downloaded any card in QA (and I have downloaded all e cards). So the problem may be isolated only to the Mac version, simply a problem on your end only, or a newer PC version than I'm running (1.2.174). But I agree that Totem probably needs to look into this.

I just purchased today's card, e0808. No demos!

This is a information from the iStripper Windows version.

Card f0240
The clip shows 13 clips. There are 17 transition clips (IT clips) that are not displayed in the cliplist.

In the left part of the screen the cliplist is also shown. If you look at the first value after the filename, then you can recognize the following:

• 2 clips (preview) standing (value 0)
• 5 clips Poledance (value 4)
• 4 clips (including 1 preview clip) sitting on the table and the legs in front of the table (value 9)
• 2 clips standing behind the table (value 10)

I assume that the same files are used in the Windows version and in the MAC version.

All of the E and F series cards should at the very least
have the _IT_ .demo clips

If you are Not Seeing Any .DEMO clips including Not seeing the _IT_ clips
Then there is some other issue going on..

I used a free account and added F0240 as a preview.

These are the clips that are added to the Models folder for the Preview.
if you Purchase the card, these should still be in the folder.
( @WAFree I don't have credits on this test account to try to buy it.. )

Sorry, I've been busy. Attached are 4 screen captures. The first three show the contents of the data folder, the contents of the models folder and the clip list in the UI for f0240. All the other cards I reported as being missing demos have similar appearance. The last screen capture for card f0760 one of only two purchases that did include demos.

I have no idea why most cards had no demos and two had them. To the best of my knowledge I purchased and downloaded all the cards in the same way.

To delete the unwanted preview clips, you may have used the option shown in the image. (for example, automatically downloaded preview)

"My Collection" shows only purchased shows. The preview is in the "Girls Store" and can not be deleted there.

I have never deliberately deleted any demo clips and I don't want to. Something in the software has either deleted them or failed to load them. About 6 months ago there was a flaw in iStripper that caused it to delete all my demo clips, but these are cards I purchased in the past 2-3 weeks.

The Value is in bytes - it's the Limit of how much space the demos can use.
Once exceeded, you will not gwt any more demos.

If you don't have a value set.
I think it is 2GB by default.

8796093022208 = 8 TebiBytes limit ( this will never be exceeded by the size of the demos)

After you add that Key, Restart iStripper

Select one card where you are missing the .demos
then RIGHT click the trash can, and check for updates.

It should now Download the missing .demo clips.
( If it's a recent download, then it Will ONLY download the Demos.
If it's an Older download, it will re-Download the entire card )

normally you don't have to modify this key (this only intends to increase the allowed size of demos on your computer)
you may have had a problem of access to your rights file, that caused some .demos to be ignored/deleted, that may be a reason of your problem, I don't know...
anyway, by a simple "Check for update" on each card you bought you should get the preview shows (.demo) back
(NB: you never see it- files listed inside the software)

OK! I've got it working, now. Interesting things to report.

I have iStripper on two Macs, a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro.

First I tried WA's suggestion on the MacBook Pro. I don't use iStripper much on the MacBook so I had to update it to version 1.2.181. Then I opened the com.totem.vghd.plist preference file. The property dim_server.maxDeletedDemoSize was present. I added a new property dim_server.maxUserDefinedPreviewsBuffer. I set both to 2TB = 21990232555552. Then I checked for updates for card f0240 and it worked. I now have the demos.

Next, after seeing @Nikotem message I checked my Mac Pro. Neither property was present in the preference file on that Mac! As a test, I tried checking for updates without making any changes to the Preference file. THAT WORKED TOO!

I'm now in the process of checking for updates on all my cards.

I had previously experienced the "deleted demo issue"
In fact it kept happening, even after I restored the demos I had on a back up
and the others I had re-downloaded.
Only to find that they had again gone missing.

It could be coincidental, but adding the registry values, ( and possibly an updated software version )
resolved my issue.

Reading Rex's post, that the default limit is set to 2GB, made me think, the increased registry limit might be part of the issue with cards not downloading the demos.
that is why I suggested adding the value with an increased limit.

TebiBytes are powers of 1024 bytes
TeraBytes are powers of 1000 bytes

Actually I should have simply entered 2000000000 since Hard Disks are sized in TeraBytes not TebiBytes.

In any case, my problem is solved and I've restored about half my collection with demos.

The advertised Size of a HD is in Terabytes, orders of 1000 bytes, but the Data is stored in TebiByte or orders of 1024 bytes.
So you do need to use 219902325552 for 2TB of data.


Also I did a local Test.

The Next time I started iStripper, my Demos started to be deleted.

So I believe you do need to have that key to prevent the demos from disappearing.

You get the demo's upon download,
but the next time or next day you start up iStripper, if you have exceeded the demo size limit
they are removed.

So I recommend for anyone who wants to Keep all of the demos

add the Registry value, or for a Mac add it to the preference file.

For what its worth.
I have 3770 cards in my collection about 30 have Not been Downloaded.

there are 19812 .demo files that total 103,817,823,782 bytes
or approximately 97 gibibytes, or 103 gigabytes

So even using the nice round number of 2000000000
for the value of that registry

You will never exceed that limit.

The whole Idea is to set a Limit that won't be exceeded,
so you can keep all of the .demo clips.

The real intended function though, is for a member who is concerned abut how much space the .demos are taking up.
Lots of members have submitted complaints over that issue.

So by default, the limit is set to 2 GB.

when the Size of the .demos exceeded the set limit.
they are deleted.
( i'm not sure if it's the next time you start iStripper, or the next day or when specifically, but the demo files that exceed the set limit are removed. )
