I was going thru my bank statement and found something very unsettling,ever since I joined I bought credits using Epoch and never had an issue but this time I went with Netbilling and I got a charge of $56.45 on a $50.00 dollar purchase then like that was not enough I got charged $3.00 dollars on what it says foreign currency conversion.
so I'm asking; whats going on? what are the other $6.45 dollars for? whats with the conversion fee? those charges were not stated when I bought credits otherwise I wouldn't bought them. A warning to everybody;
Since the Billing is NOT handled directly by Totem, that Question would Best be Asked to the 3rd Party Biller. Netbilling is not one of my Options so I can't read their TOS or Disclaimer.
But, By Law, since Totem is Based in Paris, and you are making a Foreign Purchase, the Biller is allowed to charge an International Fee, plus you Credit Card company can charge a Currency conversion Fee.
Also, maybe Netbilling Charged you 50 Euro, that's about 57.00 and that makes more sense since your Credit card company tacked on a Currency Conversion Fee..
I'm aware of conversion fees,I buy stuff from China,Austria and England and everytime there is a disclaimer stating charges,handling fees and shipping over seas,I'm not new to this game. I'm in America and I don't know where Epoch is located but its company never charged anything over what I purchase,every time was a even fifty and not a cent more,or seven or nine dollars.
I have only used Epoch for the all my purchases. I believe CCBill is also a good US based company. Used Segay or whatever once and I was hit with a conversion fee. Never again.
I pay by PayPal and for me was new that this week when I pay for credit instead 50 Dollars it was 50 EUR. And it is bigger difference. I have count in Czech crown. 1 Euro is more expensive then 1 Dollar. On opposite side why one users pay 50 Euro and another only 50 Dollars? 1 USD = 0,893 EUR
I wish paypal was an option I only ever use paypal, if it's not an option I usually avoid the company with totem though I've only use Epoch for the past 4 years and have never had a problem I have noticed there's an addition already ticket box that signs you up to some videoxxx website for 1.50 then re-occurs with the full fee within 2 days, I have since not seen this anymore but this type of additional box could be your problem. I also use mastercard and in Australia our banks have a 2 step proccess before we can even spend money online, my bank does anyways and is super handy as it texts the amount and a code to use and with Epoch emailing a confirmation letter it says in brackets non-recurring so if they pull more out then they should my bank bounces it back to me. Though I hope this issue gets sorted for everyone as I plan to buy more credits soon and don't want this happening. Hope you guys get your money back and sorted.
The overcharge issue that occured with NetBilling with a few customers have been found and fixed. As Celine said, overcharged customers are all being refunded of the extra charge by NetBilling and US. NetBilling is back online with no extra charges now, thanks for your patience and understanding with this new third party biller.
Do we have to contact NetBilling or will they be able to figure it out on their side?
