I just want to get my facts straight before paying. From what I understand if I pay for a subscription for one month I will receive a new card every day. What I can't find is a definite answer to is do I have control over which cards I get per day or do they just automatically and randomly arrive. Do I keep the cards I receive each day and if so do I keep them if I cancel my subscription? Any other information on subscriptions I may not know would also be appreciated.

The cards are random. You can't chose the cards that will come in a sub, that's why it is the cheaper way to get the girls here.

The cards are yours, you'll own them and they will not go away, no matter what, even when you cancel your sub or if you get them in any other way.

It was well over a year before I found out that you kept the cards. Basically it's the demo cards except once you get them they are yours even if you no longer subscribe and of course they are the full show. You'll no longer get demo cards at least until your subscription ends. HTH

Just want to add one more thing here.
With the Subscription you get a Random Card Every day, until you have all of the cards. Then you only get the new cards as they are released.

If you have automatic Downloads turned on, you will no longer receive the Demo clips.

To get the Demo Clips as well as the full card clips, you have to Manually download the cards.
Some Demo clips are just a shortened version of one of the full clips, but on Many of the cards, the Demo clips are all together different from the full clips.
So I like to Have BOTH.

How to manually Download cards.

Turn off all automatic downloads

Then in your Collection you will see the new card(s) that is added.
move your mouse over the new card, and when it increases in size, click on the Plus sign.

The Popup view will give you the option to Download the demo, or the full card.

I always start with the demo clips, they download fast.
Then I can play the demo clips while the full card is downloading.

Depending on your Internet Connection Speed a Full card might take 20 to 30 minutes to download.
The Smaller Demo clips only take 3 to 5 minutes.

If you start out and buy 10 cards at once. Keep in mind that you have to wait till they all download, and that could take some time.

That's why I like to turn off all the automatic downloads, and manually control what cards and when.

Just my preference.

Wyldanimal, i have a subscription & the automatic downloads is checked & i still have to download it manually. Am i doing something wrong or is this the way it works

Habs...the simple answer is that the automatic girl a day subscription card downloads only at a specific time,(usually day before due day),and usually comes on to be available to play on your desktop later, after midnight on its due day.
It can look like the card is downloaded in your "advanced settings"when this happens, as the whole card downloads into your system first, well before it is available to you BUT THE GIRL DOESN'T SHOW UP DANCING UNTIL IT'S AUTOMATICALLY SET TO DO SO BY THE SYSTEM ON YOUR DUE DAY!
Usually the next Midnight.
Be patient!

One small point about the subscription. Totem say the choice of the daily card is random: it isn't. In fact it's quite heavily biased towards older cards (just like the 'random' daily specials). You do get some free credits to offset this, but only the first time you subscribe.

One, its your "opinion" is not a fact unless you have read the code, so please do not state it that way.
Two, I believe that is random, based on a number of factors, its not and never has been 100% random, otherwise you would have the possibility to get the cards you already have in your collecton. totemrex gave the factors a long long time ago and I now no longer recall what they were.

let me get this straight, if i want to have both, i have to delete the full shows and download the trailers manually first? my isp isnt going to be happy with me using all that bandwidth lol.

Both the trailers and the subscription? Nope. When you subscribe, your trailers become your daily card. They are full shows instead of demos. Once your sub expires, they become trailers again.

I have a subscription & the full shows don't seem to download automaticly even though in the advanced tab i have it checked. The trailers download fine but underneath the card it says full show & an arrow for download. i waited a full day to see if things changed & still had to manually download the card on its due date. Any thoughts would be helpful

Here is How I do it..
In VG on Advance Settings, Uncheck all the Download check Boxes.

Open the Models folder,
For the Card you want the Demo clips for.
Rename the Card folder to something else
A0001 -> A0001X

then In VG Select Card A0001 and Delete it.. the Trash Can Icon
Since the Folders has been Renamed, the Clips aren't being Deleted, but the Download option is reset.

Now go back to the Models Folder and Name the Folder back

A0001X -> A0001

In VG click on the PLUS sign for the Card A0001 and Choose Download Demos

After the Demos are done, a few minutes

Download the Full card, Since the Clips for the Full card are Still in the Folder, It won't download anything Unless a Clip has been updated..

No extra Bandwidth from your ISP :-)
