Thanks, Rex, I dunno exactly what you mean with including this story to the wiki, if one story or the whole history thread. All is goody to me. The intention of this little thread was always information and entertainment for the folks. ;)

I agree with n1og.I did not know about vg then like i do now. I got my first pc on april 4,2010.I did not know much about the internet then as i learned to surf the web as they say.a year leter i was on xhamster.com and ran across an ad for vg i was curious and took a look. well from then to now i been hooked. :)

Lol funny too see my picture on the top from this topic .... I was away for a long time but I try too update my collection again a little ... include deskbabes ...

I had forgotten I was last to post in the "Desktop Picture Marathon" featured on page 5 of this thread too.
The picture I used behind Morgane was taken in my back garden that winter. It was just a basic "Print Screen" while VGHD was running, & then pasted into MS paint & saved

We've been working on new subscription offers and I wanted to share what we have in mind with you. We're thinking of offering a monthly recuring memberships with variable number of full shows received each day. Today, you can subscribe for one month, three month or six month recuring, but you always get one new full show a day.

With this new offer, users would be able to get from one to four full shows a day. Prices would be slightly lower than today and it would enable users to get a full collection much faster at this reduced price.

Here are the numbers:

DESKBABES BOOSTER PACKS.

Some 234 days ago, the sister site, DeskBabes got its own booster packs. Obviously, as the collection grows, the special offers started to be the same for both sites.

BEST OF THE MONTH BOOSTER PACKS

179 days ago, Totem came up with a whole different style of booster pack.

“Each week we post the monthly bestsellers from a different category, highlighting the diversity of what members like , as well as offering everyone the opportunity to buy them as a booster pack, for a discounted price.”

The difference between these booster packs and the traditional ones was that the cards are not determined for what you already have in your collection, but rather is a generic offer and the same for every user.

Back then, the offer was at first available only to Silver and Gold members, but almost right away it was available for everybody.

Now, it was supposed to be a weekly thing for both the bestsellers at VG and DBs, but later on, some 109 days ago, the weekly offer changed to a monthly one.

Of course, being these generic booster packs, if you already own some of those shows is up to you to buy less for more.

THE MEMBER OF THE MONTH AWARDS


Back to a year ago, Totem started to give public recognitions to some notable users with a monthly award called: Member of the Month. With a topic opened for that purpose and the pick of a chick holding a board with that user name, the award keeps going on to date.

First user to get one of them was Wyldanimal, very well deserved, as everybody knows around here.

At first seemed that some commitment to the community was required, but later on, even one dude, (banned more than once for bad behavior), even though making fun of a late, well respected mod, got one. So everything goes now.

AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOS

A little piece of memorabilia, not like a sweated outfit, but something easier to hang in the wall. Long time ago there was this idea to produce something just for ya, and cheaper than the auctions.

On the thread: “NEW: Autographed photos”, this was said:

Several made suggestions, but the initiative never took off… Or did it?

Very limited indeed maybe, but yours truly owns one and so a few others I reckon. ;)

OUTFITS

The dream to dress up a real-life Barbie doll was made true, kinda, when Totem created a new forum category called, of course, “OUTFITS”.

New Outfit Category in the Forum

Access to this category is restricted to Platinums and VIP members.
You can post in this new category to suggest new outfits for our girls.
Post one or a few picture of the outfit, a poll asking if other members like the outfit.
If you get aproved by a member of the team, you can purchase the outfit, ship it to us and we'll use it for one of the coming girls.
The outfit can be returned to you, washed or not, after being used. They can also be sold as an auction for your benefit.”

And so, with some strain to get the rules of the new forum, the serious proposals started little by little to show up. With more misses than hits, finally some outfits were accepted. Like these in the pic. The first one submitted by Hydargos (230 days ago). The second one by sadoldman (279 days ago). The third is a much more recent proposal by 91hebasu (34 days ago). These outfits are still waiting for a nice body to dress up.

These two, on the other hand, already found a place in the VG history.

The first one submitted by Kosh (246 days ago). That Marta was the model advertising it was just a coincidence, lol. The second one was submitted by ssjain (267 days ago).

These are just examples to illustrate the topic, and enough of them. Those are not all that are there nor the only ones accepted.

So thanks, folks. Curious thing, Valentina was the model for those so different outfits. And even though I would like to dress up Valentina too, I kinda would like a lot more to undress her, so I will wait for Totem to come up with a new forum category for that, lol.

GIRLS AT MAKE-UP

As mentioned before along this thread, at times there are some models that post stuff or some casual pictures are posted to give us a little insight of the process that goes through at the Totem’s headquarters to bring us the dancing beauties.

This time, though, it was made constant by Rex in the thread: “Girls at makeup”.

The thread actually was made for SexyMakeUp, who, if you don’t know, is the very talented make-up artist and the one also that does the hair for all the VG and DBs models, making the pretty even prettier. From the first model back then, Victoria sweet to the last one posted so far, Sheila Cooper, SexyMakeUp allow us to see a little of the magic behind the magic, also providing us with a peek about the new models that will be very close to a release. Thanks for the insight and your work, SexyMakeUP.

STANZEFLASHER

If you are a new user or one that signed up in the last year, you might never heard of Stanzeflasher before. But unless you have no show older than the last year, you know him too well, cause he was the creative talent behind all the shows released before that on VG and back to the older products and even the earlier shows on DBs. He was the photographer, director and in a huge way, the contact between us users and the models, as he was a very active poster in these forums. A funny, cordial man, was often around to answer the questions and provide some insight to the users.

The spirit imprinted by him on the shows and, actually, all that we like, and even dislike, about VG is still luring new fans to the product and keeping around the savvy users. There’s no story of VG without Stanzeflasher. So this like a little homage to the guy that brought us so much fun for a long time and still is giving us so much fun whenever a chick under his watch shows up on our desktop.

And so the shows are still going on, now with Sylia, oliverlokky and ethanangus, and I dunno if somebody else, cause nobody has told me about it, lol.

By the way, even with the later “overstripping” factor, that puts some boredom where it shouldn’t be any boredom, ethan is delivering some hot shows for VG lately. Keep on with the spirit and evolving. ;)

THE DANCING CAGE

728 days, almost two years ago, in the thread: “An alternative to the strip pole: The Cage.”, started by, well, me, the proposal to add a GO-GO cage or a dancing cage was made. As some “radical” ideas, it got great support and fierce opposition.

Stairs up, the idea was accepted, in principle, as we can see in this post:

Nobody found a company to deliver cage in Europe at the time, and as the proverbial rock that falls into the water making a lot of splash just to end up resting peacefully in the bottom, the idea seemed to be canned and forgotten.

And today, we got it.

The first model released inside a cage (got it? Released inside a cage? Sorry…) Whether some will despise it and some will love it, the fact is that the cage clips are the first true variant in the VG product since those long past times when the pole and the close-up clips were incorporated. For those that watched a Classic card, you can see that the clips were only standing clips. So, I for one, salute the new times and salute Totem for still taking risks after all these years and looking to improve the user experience time and again.

MAYBE YES, MAYBE NOT…

The other day I was looking for some stuff, believe it or not had to do with work, and yet again I found another interesting thing on the net. I know Rex worked in the video games industry before doing VG, so I wonder if this is one of his early works.

If so, I had fun with something Rex created long, long before VG, lol.
