Melisa

The indisputable queen of VG also graced us with her presence some time ago in the forums.

In the thread "Hot ** MELISA ** Hot", started by Hog49 on 2009 06 12, that it is mostly a long collective love letter, Melisa posted and included the first picture you can see here, on 2009 07 26:

"Hi :)
Sending regards from Miami :)"

By the way, see her outfit in the picture? Yup, that's the same she used in the buttercup card. We are obviously having a poor variety in the outfits department lately cause Totem is asking the models to bring their own clothes for the shots. This is not new here, of course, but don't see much money spended to provide the models with more unique outfits as before.

Anyway, Melisa was around for a couple of weeks, posting a few times in different threads. She even took the time to send a few personal messages to some of her fans. The second image in this post is a pm from her to me back then, thanking me for this post: "Melisa you're absolutely gorgeous. I can hardly wait for the rest of your cards. Good morning Beautiful."

As far as i know, only her and Ariel were so gracious to personally address their VG admirers. Nice girls, indeed.

Some VG funnies

Ok, this pics might seem out of topic, but they're pretty funnie and have no other place to post them, lol. But the one who pictures our girls have a great sense of humor and here pay homage to him.

The first picture was posted on April 12, 2008, in the thread "VirtuaGirl first: Quartet?", by the user Sahasrahla, who got the first from stanzeflasher site. Dunno who are the other 3 fellows there, so don't ask me. Also, Stanzeflasher suggested to not spend money in that show, cause it's not explicit (thanks goodness, lol).

The second picture was posted on December 21, 2008, by Stanzeflasher, with the following message:

"French christmas cooking by Totof and StanZ.. you will appreciate the talentuous "Totem team" lol."

And that's it, fellows. Many thanks to all the people that contributed in the making of this humble history thread for so many months now. And thanks a lot to all the readers that followed the thread. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as i enjoyed writing it.

As for why i'm ending it now, well, times change and not always for the better, as my good friend thegraybeard says.

Long time users have been disrespected and menaced for opposing the trolls and spammers that roam the forum with the complacency of Totem. And the most astonishing episode happened yestarday that made me realize that the cause is lost.

I find it pointless to keep the effort of adding content in the present environment. That is my perception, might be good or wrong, but my perception anyway.

I'm not leaving the forum completely, but i'll move to the quieter and not trolled spanish forum and post in my other language. Who knows, maybe i'll retake this thread there. So, if you speak the Cervantes idiom or care to use a translator, pay me a visit sometime. ;)

The OP has left the thread, so feel free to spam it and trolling it as you see fit.

Adiós. (;

thanks Oquijan for the great work you put into this. It really made an interesting read.
By the way: that the models are asked to bring their favourite outfits is even in the FAQ of this site:
"# How do you choose outfits?
It's a mix. We rely on the girls themselves to bring as many outfits as they can and we also spend a lot of time shopping for the craziest outfits around.
Then the girls pick out their own outfits, themes, tell our makeup artist what kind of hair and make-up they want.

Once again Thank You Oquijan for your excellently presented history thesis. We appreciate it beyond words and will be continually indebted to you for taking the huge amount of time and effort to research and post it:)

The detailed, yet humorous, factual, way you have done it has been riveting and required reading each episode to completion. Even for folk with a short attention span like myself:)

I will refrain from my usual long winded comments for a change:) However,, we will not allow you to be absent from the forum, even though we know where to find you:) We trust while you are there that you bug Totem for some Latina beauties:) Plus there is more history coming along here or at least we will need your expertise to write the forums or other obituaries:)

Ouijan, this was the most entertaining and fantastic thing to hit this forum in a long while now. I respect your decision to end this column but that don't mean at all that I want it to end, my friend. It has certainly been entertaining to say the least.
Reconsider leaving won't you please, we need all the help we can get around here ... lol. If you do decide to leave, then at least give us a drive by once in a while ... lmao. I know all good things come to an end at some point, but trust me, the bad ends too, it just seems the bad don't end quick enough.

Stay well my friend, I wish you the very best

Well, some nice folks are wondering about my whereabouts, so i came to kinda redirect you to the spanish forum. ;) Have some threads going there now, including one with some feel like this one that is over now. It's like a custom movie of sorts, lol.

Here's the preview posted there, but this one is in english. Have fun, as much as you can here in troll land, and see you around. ;)

George Love, “Titilate”

I ended this thread a while ago, due to some events at the time that are roughly mentioned above and others that is better to keep behind since the circumstances finally changed, even if it took a long time.

I would like to reopen it briefly to honor the memory of my dear friend George Love, known as “Titilate”, who passed away on November, 2010.

Even though he came to the site a few months before me, he started to post regularly just a little before I signed in, so I was lucky to read at the moment almost all his posting. In any message board or forum (well, as in all places where there is human interaction, actually) there are always strong characters that draw your attention right away and that greatly contribute to give to the whole place an identity. Needles to say that George was one of those users that had that rare shine.

What made me start posting and interacting in the forum was that it was mostly a really funny place. In those days the crazy stuff was everywhere and hijacking threads was kinda a local sport. You could found George usually in the middle of the action, if not as the head of the parade. In little more than 2000 posts he placed, you can find countless samples of his clever, witty, sense of humor. Looking in his profile and browsing through his posts is really entertaining.

One of the things that George liked the most was the beauty of the black girls. And yeah, that’s not a secret even to those who barely knew him, cause he always was very vocal about it and he was always active trying to bring a little more ethnic balance to the product.

Among his many efforts in that matter, he started the well known thread “On Strike for Ethnic Diversity “, on October, 01, 2009. Not only the strike was a pretty funny way to ask for diversity, but gave origin to his well known avatar, the gnome, that identified him since then.

By Titilate: “I currently have 299 cards in my collection and 4 tickets in the bank which means I am one card shy of VIP status. Titilate is now on a titty-less strike until Totem provides more ethnic diversity. We have had the occasional asian girl show up in past months and it is now way,way overdue for a black girl. So I am officially striking against becoming VIP and purchasing more tickets until Totem produces one of the two "missing cards" of Krystel or provides another new black girl. And I mean a "black" girl, not just slightly tanned.”

Some joined the strike movement and many more offered support. Of course, strong opinions and notable activism usually attract detractors and leads to confrontations, but George was never shy holding his ground, always without losing his cheerful temper. “I’m always for a good battle: some I lose, some I win” he said to me once, laughing.

He had the occasion to break the strike in a couple of times, when the company promised to bring new black girls and when the missing cards of his favorite girl, Krystel, were finally released. But when time passed by and it was obvious that, for whatever reason, the company was unable to provide ethnic diversity, he went ahead with his movement and never relinquished. That doesn’t means that he disliked the white chicks, he got a good collection, but it was always about a little balance. Make no mistake, he was a fan of VG and he liked to be part of the community a lot. It brought a lot of fun to him and he also had a passion for it. Sadly, he never got his black beauties dancing on his desktop. The classics were a good hope, but the black chicks, also sadly, were not among the first released.

Above his uncanny sense of humor and his passion for VG and the sweet chocolate babes, George was an excellent friend and extremely loyal. Most of these qualities are only known to his closest friends here, but there are so many demonstrations of this in the open forums, especially during the current year when the trolls took over the forums and the attacks and digs to some respected users here were constant. He never stepped aside when times went rough, even when it cost him to be another target. The “Troll Wars” deserves a chapter of its own, but I’m not nearly interested in write about it. It’s enough to say that without George’s support, advice and cheerful nature, some of us would be out of this place for good, as several are now.

There’s not much left to be said publicly, but there’s a lot to remember.

Here I join the petition made by CyberVixen to the Totem fellows, to include in the name of one card, whenever you manage to bring a black chick, something that refers to Titilate. I propose “Titillating Girl” (yeah, I was that user, lol). I for one would be extremely grateful.

Bye, George, it was a privilege to met you. Till next time.

Wafford Clark "Rod" Rochester. “thegraybeard”

This is a hard task, to come to this thread to post again about of another of my dear friends that passed away just a few days ago, on April 12, 2011.

Rod was known to everybody as thegraybeard. He was a long time enthusiastic of the VG products and many users knew him for a longest time than I did. He was in that sense an institution in this place. You know, some people are so respected, charismatic and with such a strong personality that they contribute greatly to give shape and substance to the places they care to pay attention to. If you like even a little this forums, most of the good stuff you like is there cause people like Rod cared enough to make it a place for discussion, entertainment and friendship.

I can’t say enough about how much great man he was. He had so many interests and had so many adventures in his life, that talking with him was always a pleasure and in many ways educative. A wise man with the most corrosive, direct and explosive sense of humor I've ever encountered so far. I can’t recall a single pm or chat with him that wasn't one of the funniest moments of my day, and I was lucky enough to have plenty of those moments cause I was privileged enough to be one of his friends.

Now, above that, he was a warm and caring human being. Very sensible about his community and the people in need. Here, he was always there to give support and good advice and he was very, and I mean very, generous with his time. If you wanted to hear it straight and honest, you could do no wrong asking Rod. I like to say it as I see it, and so was he, so all the conversations we ever had were open and sincere and I appreciated that very much.

Rod loved to build computers, collect and play instruments; he was in a band in his younger years, The Thunderbird Club. He was in the Navy. He loved cars and pretty girls. He was also passionate about woodworking. We had some extensive chats about wood, lol. He loved his garden and was a great host for family reunions and he lived to meet lost of nieces, even though he died young at only 67 years old. Oh, and he appreciated the good booze, his avatar came from the Captain Morgan’s rum, one of his favorites. Lately, and for some time before, he unfortunately had so many health issues that is nothing less that amazing how he still managed to keep on with all the stuff he liked and his daily obligations, but that only proves, as I said before somewhere else, that he was also though as nails.

The pics above were posted by him, to show us how a branch from a three destroyed his deck and the last one shows it reconstructed. Just to show how much he liked some of those things described above.

“by thegraybeard - 650 day(s) ago

Good news again, work is all done but the staining of the deck and that has to cure a week or two before the finish is put on it. I am just thrilled to have my deck back in time for the anual "Graybeard pickin and grinnin beer drinkin Captain Morgan sluggin" fest ... lmao
I am a tired but happy camper,I actually got out there and worked right along with the contractors and everything is finally done except for the finish on the deck. Thanks again to all of you for your support through this, I have to go now, my deck, guitar, banjo,Dobro, Captain Morgan and beer awaits me .... lololol”

By the time I came here he was already a mod. As a regular user he was funny as hell and that didn't change later. His explosive humor was also his signature as a moderator, as anyone that has been around long enough can surely agree, getting smacked by thegraybeard was also not except of humor.

Rod was a very patient and fair man, an excellent choice for a mod I must say. Totem should be extremely grateful to had him as one of their people of trust. And I can tell that if thegraybeard was ***** to call out somebody, he, she or it deserved it. You can put that in a bank.

Over the past year, due to his health problems, we saw him posting a little less every time, sometimes he stayed out for more than a month, cause he was dealing with personal and health issues at the time, so he was in here as much as he could. Despite all, he was reading and aware of all the things going on and in contact to his friends.

Rod loved this place. It was one of the things he enjoyed the most in his last years. He was very concerned and preoccupied during the Troll Wars (a dark and annoying period yet too recent in time to tell the whole tale), when this place that used to be an entertaining and, let’s say… “innocent” space to hang around, was assaulted by the worst Troll that not even Stephen King could possibly imagine and his little gang of trolls and spammers. There were many times when he was so pissed off to see this people spamming the forums all day with useless pics and bumping everyday a bunch of dumb threads made of crap and links, always plotting and attacking other users that opposed them, destroying in fact the harmony and the spaces of collective entertainment created with so much effort by him and others, that he was about to quit on many occasions, especially since he at times felt himself left alone with no other support than that from his closest friends. He did not just because his sense of loyalty to his friends and, well, cause he wasn't the type that runs from a fight.

And as the forum now slowly comes back to a place where users can again discuss, joke, create and meet each other in a mostly all the time nice way, be sure that Rod, thegraybeard, did all he could to make it happen. Hopefully we all will be grateful and wise enough to be sure that it remains that kind of space.

George (“titilate”) and Rod were the best pals, now I hope they are having fun somewhere and having lap dances from the hottest girls we ever had the hope to see.

Farewell, Rod, It was quite an honor to meet you and be one of your friends.

I usually sent him a pm regularly to ask him for his health and I called it “The *****’s nest watch” and it amused him.

So I guess the only thing left to say is:

Aye, Captain!

Land, ho!

This awesome wallpaper was created by CyberVixen. ;)

Before Rod was a mod, I would constantly joke about needing a perpetual supply of fresh legs for my avatar. It fit in with his twisted sense of humor and from that, we became close friends. He also mentored me on how to turn forum hijacking into an art. I kid you not. And he always had some mischief in the works. When @Funboy, SmoothiePie and @FlyingWelshman were around. Me and Beardy plotted to Cristen and launch the S.S. Greybeard. Funny enough, we worked on the actual logistics of the whole farce, and then, to my unexpected surprise, prematurely released it onto the forum, PMing me "It's on!!!". Another thing he loved to do, especially in his pre mod days was to mess with forum members he didn't care for. He would PM me saying "I'm going to mess with so and so by asking a question that gives you the opportunity to lead us in our own, 'out of control' direction in so and so's thread." I would be game and take the bait. If anyone was around during those times, you got to witness the "*****" that he would "encourage". Others would join in too, oblivious to the diabolically twisted humorist who was "Greybeard". He at first, did not want to moderate telling me he would have to suppress his mischievous tendencies but yet felt honored of the very consideration. And thankfully, he took the task. I think getting to view classified model audition shots of potential performers here, set the temptation bar high. And now, when irked by forum member's behaviors, unlike before, he could now wield the power to actually stop it, me, becoming I'm sure, one of the many sounding boards he could vent to before wielding that authority.

In closing, I got the chills when discovering his demise, for, on around the 10th of this April, I Pm'd him with the topic title, "My Captain, my captain . . . " The title of a poem, written by Walt Whitman, in 1865 after learning Abraham Lincoln had died.

Stay humorous my friend, as you keep Heaven's portal lively . . . in true and unique Beardy fashion as only you can do.

I am not as good with words as my fellow mwmbers, I can only say that Rod's passing has hit me very hard.

I was the one to recommend him to Totem as a moderator and I can say I have never regretted my decision, in the slightest.

The strain of .being a moderator can take its toll and together wih family issues it can be hard. I would not have survived one such time without Rod's daily support

Rod was alway a shoulder to support you even when you do not agree fully on everything. The "troll" wars were a hard time and while largely resolved echos still sound and were one of his main concerns until then end.

All I can say, is that I miss my friend greatly, even though he is in a better place.

Thank you Oquijan for starting this chain of post and to the others who have contributed.
